A York-based education recruitment agency, run by teachers for teachers, is going from strength to strength as it celebrates its first anniversary this week.
Supported Recruitment Ltd are reveling in the success of their first year as they welcome two new members of staff in to the fold. And what’s more they are keeping it in the family.
James Robinson, the new Co-Director at Supported Recruitment, is the brother of experienced primary school teacher and founder of Supported Recruitment, Richard Robinson. Richard and his wife Gemma launched the company on 1 September 2017.
James has twelve years’ experience in recruitment, three of which have been in a management capacity. He has a wealth of experience in placing people into both permanent and temporary contracts.
James says “Having worked in recruitment for 12 years with large corporate organisations, the opportunity to work within a small, family business which makes a direct difference to the quality of local education has been fantastic. I believe that our teachers should be given the recognition and support they deserve and this is the ethos behind the support packages we provide. We want to give teachers every possible chance and opportunity to thrive within this wonderful profession.”
“What Richard and Gemma have already achieved in such a short time at Supported Recruitment is fantastic and together we’re hoping to grow the company further. I’m really excited to be part of the team, working alongside my brother and sister-in-law and to all the opportunities the new academic year brings!”
The team is also strengthened with the appointment of Ruth Jobson, an experienced teacher with over 17 years of experience across the primary age ranges. She supports, advises and mentors the Supported supply teachers during their time in school.
Through her school-to-school support work, Ruth has gained a wealth of experience developing teachers through coaching and mentoring in different York primary schools. She is very well respected across York’s teaching community and will fit perfectly into Supported Recruitment’s teacher-centred ethos. Ruth will work closely with Richard and Gemma, supporting teachers at all levels within primary schools.
Supported Recruitment Ltd supplies and recruits teachers for primary schools in York and the surrounding region and are passionate about supplying and recruiting teachers who are properly prepared to take on a teaching role. They have specialist teaching coaches who support their supply teachers by working alongside them in the classroom.
Over the last year they have worked with 16 schools in York and the surrounding area and now have over 40 teachers who are registered to them and are ready to work in York primary schools in the new academic year. These teachers all have the opportunity to take advantage of the support that is offered by the Supported Recruitment coaches.
Richard says “We’ve had an incredibly busy and rewarding year since we launched last September and it’s wonderful to now have my brother James and Ruth on board to help us go even further.”
“The new team are all passionate about making a positive difference to the education of primary school children in York. To do this we invest in our teachers, prepare them, coach and mentor them through working alongside them in the classroom. We want them to feel confident walking in to a classroom and enjoy the rewards that teaching can provide. Importantly, we will also help our teachers to progress in their careers. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for us!”
